The GSS system comprises the following key components:

Unique bonding system that strengthens the glass itselfGSS-Bond

 

  • The GSS system is based on SECURE BOND, a proprietary cleaning, mounting and bonding solution (not dishwashing liquid or baby shampoo) that activates the patented acrylic adhesives (not latex glue) and absorbs them deep into glass to strengthen the glass itself.

  • Hence, GSS achieves bonding ratios of 98% to 99% (compared to 80% as an industry standard), resulting in only 1% to 2% of glass being dislodged in an attack (compared to 20% as an industry standard). Therefore the GSS system preserves the integrity of the glass structure during attack.

  • GSS also reduces the curing time from 90 days to 21 days for the GSS system with 75% strength achieved in 48 hours. So while other systems take 3 months to cure, GSS achieves most of its strength in 2 to 3 days.

  • Molecular bonding eliminates the problem of bubble, lift at the edges and delamination.

  • In this way, GSS is able to achieve 10x more protection than other ordinary safety and security films.

  • GSS offers a range of protection levels from 150mm 1 ply to 525mm 3 ply security films in various tint options.

  • Multiple ply films have the grain layers in opposite directions to offer improved stopping power and better ballistics resistance properties.

  • Unlike ordinary safety film, the GSS System does not allow stretch, which is important to ensure that the glass remains intact in its frame when broken, making it virtually impenetrable. Ordinary safety film allows stretch, which can pull the glass out of the frame.

  • Even the thinner systems that are not ballistic rated help to protect from gunfire on ordinary glass. The system holds the glass together to avoid glass shrapnel and reduce the risk area, while slowing the bullet down and even changing its trajectory.  Penetration is considered to be "non-lethal".
